We all know that it is very hard to ask for help and it’s estimated that 10% – 12% of people suffering from issues with addiction never seek help. This can be because of shame, concerns over the cost of treatment, issues with transport or time limitations.
But there is an alternative to traditional face-to-face counselling or residential rehab. We now have access to the technology to be able to offer an excellent range of counselling and support materials online, without the barriers of office hours, travel or the embarrassment about having to visit a recovery facility.
Online therapy and virtual addiction support has been shown to work very well as either a first step to further treatment, or as a way for people who are resistant to traditional treatment options to be able to engage with it on their own terms. That’s because it’s easier to access, can be used whenever you feel the urge to use, and can be done from the comfort and familiarity of your own home. Studies have shown that using an online addiction treatment can help people stick with their treatment long-term and reduce substance use. Of course, because it removes so many barriers to accessing the help and is much less expensive than a residential treatment centre for example, it allows more people to get help.
A View From The Bridge
We believe everyone has the right to recover, and that treatment should be accessible to everyone, everywhere. For this reason, we have developed an online programme for those who are unable to travel or receive treatment for their addictions face-to-face.
Our four week programme is delivered by our expert team of qualified psychotherapists and addiction specialists. You will be supported by the same team who deliver our Residential Programme, yet at a fraction of the cost.
We have adapted our tried and tested approach from our residential recovery centre and modified it to work well online. All you need to access these qualified professionals and our bespoke treatment plans is a laptop, tablet or even a phone with a large screen and good internet coverage.
By participating in our online programme you will receive ongoing support from our specialists and fellow addicts who are also working through the programme. As it’s virtual, this support can be offered when you need it most and at convenient times to fit around your schedule. Our specialists will hold you accountable and give you someone to report to on a regular basis to celebrate your success and offer advice to deal with any issues you are facing. We will offer morning and evening check-ins, a clear structure to follow and a flexible programme which can be modified to suit your needs and your time constraints. We will also create an online community, where you can share your experiences, ask your questions and help each other to keep on track and have people to turn to when things get tough.
Our sessions include online group therapy, recovery based workshops, physical fitness, 1-to-1 psychotherapy and 12 step facilitation. We also offer an additional family group therapy session for families of clients. This can be combined with attending a local meeting if restrictions allow, and we will offer recommendations on how to achieve success with this form of treatment.
This programme has been designed to be accessible and affordable for anyone suffering from addiction to alcohol or drugs. If you’ve never sought help before, this is a great way to start, or if you have been to rehab already but are struggling to get the support you need during lockdown, this can be an excellent secondary care option.
There are a host of benefits to be had from our online addiction recovery programme. You will have –
- Structured support and accountability
- Access to a range of qualified specialists
- 1-to-1 support to guide you through your unique journey to recovery
- A flexible treatment approach which can fit around your routine, work or family commitments and using patterns
- Treatment in the comfort of your own home
- A supportive online community
- Lower cost treatment with zero travel costs
- A clear structure to follow which will empower you to make better decisions, with the help of our experts
There will be no judgement and you should feel no shame asking for help. We are living through extraordinary times and the anxiety and limitations we’re all facing has led many to lean on drugs or alcohol as a crutch.
