THE BRIDGE
We are a rehabilitation centre in Andalusia, Southern Spain. The Bridge is a family-run business, founded by Howard and Zalyia Silver and their daughter Ali. As a family with personal experience of addiction and recovery, we have been personally involved in helping individuals and their families for over 30 years.
In 2019, we opened our luxury addiction treatment centre in Marbella to help more people access the services we believe are essential for successful, long-term recovery from addiction and eating disorders. By combining a wide range of evidence-based treatment options, highly qualified therapists, luxury facilities, and a strong abstinence-focused programme, we are here to help you overcome addiction and build a happy, healthy, and fulfilling life free from drugs, alcohol, gambling, eating disorders, and other destructive behaviours.
In 2024, The Residence was launched to provide effective addiction treatment for the most discerning of clients. The Residence offers 1-2-1 recovery in a spectacular private villa, with privacy, discretion and luxury guaranteed.

no nonsense recovery
our approach
At The Bridge we take a tough, no-nonsense approach to recovery, following a programme of abstinence. We are patient, kind and understanding, but our programme is non-negotiable and we require our clients to put the work in, as that’s the only way they will see the results they deserve. Our Founders all have personal experience of recovery from addiction and are committed to a strict and clear programme which is underpinned by the belief that abstinence is the only effective approach to deal with addictions. We understand how hard it can be from personal experience, but have also turned our lives around and are a great example of what is possible when you really commit to making a change.
Our qualified and experienced team work hard to get to the root of the problem. We involve the families to get the complete picture and to setup a support system at home to enable long-term recovery. We want to help as many people as possible, from all walks of life and our treatment is highly effective for people who really want to be well and are prepared to put the work in to their own recovery.
a family run business
meet the FOUNDERS
The Bridge is at its very heart a family run business. Set up by the Silver family, all of whom have personal experience of addiction, the Founders are supported by a team of qualified and experienced therapists and medical professionals.
We’re proud of our small team. We’ve brought together a core team of accredited professionals and specialists, who work together to aid your recovery. You will be made to feel part of the family during your stay and receive the best care, with addiction treatment programmes tailored to you. Here are the people who you will meet and be supported by during your time in our private rehabilitation centre.
ALI
SILVER
Ali grew up attending 12 Step meetings with her parents and even from a young age could relate to what she heard there. She struggled to fit in and suffered from anxiety and the feeling of disconnection from others. To control her fears and feelings she developed a severe but short-lived eating disorder. Thankfully, her experience with support groups through her family made her know it was OK to get help and she started with therapy, meetings and educated herself about addiction and mental illness. She is a nutritional therapist, has studied psychodynamic counselling and is a qualified eating disorder practitioner, helping patients at The Bridge and young people in schools to deal with body image, eating disorders and nutrition.
hOWARD
SILVER
Howard is the co-founder of The Bridge. He started using prescription drugs from the age of 16. When he was 34 he started to use cocaine and then heroin, and his successful business and family life fell apart. After several arrests and with nowhere to live he entered rehab aged 41 and although he suffered and struggled for many years, he stayed clean and got the help he needed to get his life and sense of self back after addiction. In 2021 he celebrated his 33rd clean and sober year. He says that opening The Bridge “is a dream come true – the perfect way to give a life back to people who need help the most. People like me.”
Zalyia
SILVER
Zalyia co-founded The Bridge with her husband Howard and daughter Ali in 2019. She had a very difficult experience with addiction, developing a serious eating disorder and addiction to drinking by the age of 18, which continued for many years. She started attending self-help groups to deal with her bulimia and drinking in her 30s and despite a series of devastating losses she was able to stay clean and sober through therapy and AA. She is now 30 years sober and says that with The Bridge she is creating “the perfect rehab facility to really help people, through addiction and life beyond.”
